Detroit has a beach just like L.A., Detroit is located on Lake St. Clair and Lake Erie isn’t far away.
In Clinton Township, a near by suburb of Detroit, you will find Walt Disney Elementary School. Not Disneyland, but I am sure they are very similar.
And sure there is the L.A. Basin, but don’t forget about the “Gregory Boat Co. & Detroit Boat Basin” one of Detroits finest marinas.
There are roughly 202 currently known genera of Palm trees with around 2600 species, most of which are restricted to tropical or subtropical climates. The climate in Detroit can not support this type of plant. Thus this is probably one of the only true differences between L.A. and Detroit.

You’re in Los Angeles?? It’s way better than Detroit if you include the entire L.A. basin.
